Xeikon Café welcomes Spartanics’s Expertise

imageSpartanics is pleased to announce their attendance at the Xeikon Café Packaging Innovations event, taking place in Belgium from March 10 to 12 (www.xeikoncafe.com). At the event, the leading label solutions supplier to the label and packaging markets will launch its X-350 Laser Cutting Module integrated into the SMAG E-Cut. Spartanics is attending with its partner, SMAG Graphique, supplier of in-line and offline converting systems.

Engineered to be integrated with SMAG Graphique’s E-Cut and Digital Galaxie Semi-rotary Converting Solutions, the X-350 is a modular laser station that can cut materials up to 350mm wide with an infinite length. It is capable of reaching cutting speeds of up to 100m/minute. It comes standard with Spartanics’ Fastline and Optimization Control Software that takes PDF or vector based files and automatically turns them into laser cut files. It’s available in either a 200 watt laser or 400 watt laser.

The X-350 laser cutting solution integrates seamlessly with Xeikon’s Vectorizor. The add-on to the Xeikon X-800 digital front-end defines a new standard in communication with die-cutting devices. It produces the die-cut files based on the imposed labels and identifies them by name and barcode. This allows the laser cutting solution to understand and process the variability that a Xeikon digital press can generate and simplifies the production process. The result is the creation of new opportunities to further automate production and increase productivity.

“This is the ultimate in flexibility,” comments Mike Bacon, VP of Sales and Marketing at Spartanics, “Itgives customers the ability to add laser capabilities during the initial machine build or to add the laser module at some point in the future. The pace of change in the label market is fast, so customers and end-users are keen to seek new ways to create ever more innovative results that add value. Xeikon Café’s informal knowledge exchange platform is a perfect way for us to help printers improve their understanding, learn about opportunities and find fresh solutions to market challenges.”

“Being able to help customers identify and adapt to varying demands across different sectors is fundamental to the relationship we have with them,” adds Jeroen van Bauwel, Director Product Marketing at Xeikon. “To do that effectively, we need to ensure we have a network of highly skilled partners that enable us to draw on particular expertise and address specific areas. We are delighted to welcome Spartanics at our Xeikon Café, and be able to access the company’s wealth of expertise. Our mutual goal is to help businesses improve their day-to-day operations while also having an eye on how they can create a successful future.”
