Michelman Presenting at Prestigious TechConnect World Innovation Conference & Expo

Mr. John Homoelle, Director of New Technology & Regulatory Affairs at Michelman, will be one of the presenters at the TechConnect World Innovation Conference & Expo, being held June 14-17, 2015 in Washington, D.C. TechConnect is a global technology outreach & development organization that vets and deliver the world’s most promising technologies to the world’s top corporate, government and investment developers.


The event is the largest expo built specifically for the global innovation community and “delivers the world’s largest gathering of commercialization-focused innovators from Federal Agencies, Federal & Academic Labs, Corporate Tech Developers, and Start-up & SBIR Companies.” 
Homoelle will take attendees through Michelman’s rich past to bring context to the company’s position as a leading innovator in the industry. According to Mr. Homoelle, “Our passion has always been to connect ideas and develop technologies that add real value to customers’ products. John holds a master’s degree in chemistry from the University of Cincinnati and has been with Michelman for 39 years. Over the course of his extensive career, he has performed research at the bench, managed all lab staff, overseen ISO certification and TQM practices, overseen and led the first IT installation at Michelman, has been on the executive leadership team of John Michelman where Michelman’s first Strategic Plan was created and oversees the regulatory functions of the company. His current role is Director of New Technology and Regulatory Affairs where he has been tasked with changing the culture of Michelman to one that supports innovation regardless of its origin.


John is a member of TAPPI where he is on the SSIG that reviews and updates TAPPI paper based procedures. He has spoken at technical conferences such as PLACE, CorrExpo, Biopolymer and Western Michigan on biopolymers, sustainability, and barrier properties. He is also a member of the American Chemical Society.
