Crown Labels invests in the future for its customers

Crown Labels Ltd has been manufacturing plain and printed labels for nearly 30 years and have always taken pride in delivering customers a great service at a competitive price. With this in mind they are always looking for new innovative ways to improve the quality, service, and price on which they have built such a strong reputation.

In 2013, Managing Director and founder Paul Board went to LabelExpo Europe looking for the latest press technology and to see what direction the industry was taking, and where Crown Labels would look to fit in that future. The FB-3 press being demonstrated on the Nilpeter stand caught his attention immediately.
“We were looking for a machine that would deliver outstanding quality for our growing customer base along with efficiency and reliability,” says Paul Board. “The press with its servo technology allows for incredible print accuracy over all sorts of substrates from labels to unsupported films and moves our company into the next generation of Flexo Printing.”

“This press stood out to me immediately,” says Paul. “As a company we have continually reinvested money back into the business in the shape of new equipment year on year. This time we wanted something that would get us ahead of the majority of our industry, and I believe this press does just that.”

“This press stood out to me immediately,” says Paul. “As a company we have continually reinvested money back into the business in the shape of new equipment year on year. This time we wanted something that would get us ahead of the majority of our industry, and I believe this press does just that.”

Paul believes the company’s success in plain and colour printed labels has been driven by three main factors. He states, “I would probably credit our success to three areas, where we have tried to be the best we can be. Efficiency in manufacturing, flexibility in our operation, and a cast iron guarantee to deliver on our promises. We have always considered the customer to be king and have built a business with that philosophy in mind. I would really like to take these principles into printing flexible packaging and other synthetic labels. This will hopefully lead us into some new industries that we had previously not been able to compete in.“

As Crown continues to its journey into new markets, Paul hopes that he can add to the great team of people he has surrounded himself with.

“Just like you need great machinery, a company has to have great people to help achieve its goals. We are now on the lookout for the right individuals to help us grow our sales team and expand on our manufacturing abilities. I’m hopeful that when we unleash the full capability of the Nilpeter, we will be able to win business for a fourth reason, sheer quality!,” Board concludes.
Crown Labels new high-performance FB-3 is an 8-colour, 13 ¾-inch, multi-substrate UV-flexo press, featuring 5 servos per printing unit for complete automation of all adjustments, including job save, job load, and job change.
