Scandinavian label printers invest in Xeikon technology at Labelexpo Europe

Xeikon is pleased to report high interest from the Nordics label community with several sales closed at Labelexpo Europe today. Among other innovative label printers choosing Xeikon technology, Swedish Jodi Etiketter ordered today at the show a Xeikon CX3 digital label press, while Finish operation Tarratuote Oy, opted for the Xeikon 3030Plus system.

“It is great to see just how label specialists are benefitting from our broadest portfolio of solutions to date,” says Filip Weymans, Director Segment Marketing. “It is also indicative of how varied production demands are – from short to long runs – and how operations need to ensure they can meet their customers’ demand cost effectively, efficiently and to a very high quality.”

Choosing the fasted digital label press in its class

Jodi Etiketter is a family run business established in 1980. It specialises in self-adhesive labels and a variety of special labels. The company decided to invest in the Xeikon CX3 with a state of the art digital finishing line. It will be fully equipped with roll2roll capabilities as well as inline converting with a new  DC330.

The Xeikon CX3, based on Xeikon Cheetah technology, is the most productive five-color digital label press in its class. Its ability to run at 30m/min will ensure a highly flexible approach to print production helping Jodi Etiketter expand its portfolio of solutions to win new business. A key feature is its ability to print on a variety of heat-sensitive substrates thanks to the incorporation of Xeikon’s ICE toner technology in the specifically-designed CX3 toner. It requires a much lower fusing temperature than typical toner-based presses. It meets FDA regulations for food contact and offers the ability to print opaque white toner in one pass.

Addressing the need for short run label production

Tarratuote Oy, based in Tampere, Finland, ordered Xeikon 3030Plus system with MiniDcoat post-press line and the latest Xeikon X-800 digital front-end workflow. The investment was made to address a growing need for short run label production, not currently possible with its existing flexo print machines, and growing demand for personalized labels. The family owned company produces roll labels for the retail chain and food, logistics and paper industries. Founded at 1970, there are more than 30 employees. Annual turnover is around E5.5m. There is also a production site in Estonia.
