Narrow web ink and varnish specialist Pulse Roll Label Products Ltd has received verification for two of its core UV flexo overprint varnishes (OPV) by the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) as part of the HP Overprint Varnish Performance Program.
The company’s best-selling OPV products for the digital narrow web label printing sector include a UV flexo gloss and matt varnish, both formulated with the high resistance properties required for use over digital inks which are suitable for overprinting on HP Indigo and other digital label printing presses.
The verified products, IV044 gloss varnish and IV047 matt varnish, are already well established in the market and offer high adhesion, low shrinkage, high heat resistance, and unparalleled chemical resistance. However it is only recently that they have been tested and independently evaluated at the RIT under the HP OPV programme.
Mikaela Harding, Product Manager, Pulse Roll Label Products said, “We are delighted that our market leading matt and gloss overprintable varnishes have been verified by a globally recognised programme for best performance in terms of peeling and adhesion, solvent resistance and optical tests. These independent results prove exactly why these products are so popular with digital label printers around the world!”
RIT’s HP Indigo Overprint Varnish Performance Program enables manufacturers, suppliers and HP Indigo digital press owners to have both water-based and UV coatings evaluated. The OPV Performance procedure incorporates several tests in accordance with the stated protective uses for the coatings.
Visitors to Labelexpo Europe 2017 can see these products used on ABG International’s Digicon finishing equipment demonstrated on its stand A37 in Hall 6 and on the HP stand in the PATIO area. Pulse Roll Label Products will be exhibiting at Labelexpo 2017 in Hall 3, stand C60.
